Upcoming Classes!

There are 2 great upcoming events that you will want to consider attending! March 15th at 7 PM, I will be hosting a Coupon Swap and Meal Planning Workshop at my home. Please bring friends to this (as well as coupons you can't use and easy "go-to" frugal recipes), as it will be a great time of fellowship and putting into practice some of the skills we have learned, as well as a great time to put those coupons you can't use to good use, and find some coupons that you need that someone else didn't want! The cost is only $5 if you register in advance! You can also RSVP on the facebook page HERE. March 25th at 7 PM, I will be hosting a "Beyond the Basics" Advanced class at my home. We will discuss ways of getting multiple coupons, building a stockpile, and beginner CVS and Walgreens information. This class will build on the information learned in the beginner class, so it is recommended to attend this class first, but not required. The cost of this class is $10 if you register in advance. You can also register on the facebook page HERE. To register for either of these events, simply email me with your information, and how many will be attending so I can plan accordingly. I hope to see you all here!

Olay Body Wash- $5.29 on sale

Tuf Paper Towels- $0.50 on sale (for filler)

-$2/1 Venus Razor

CVS and Walgreens trip- 2/8/10

Ever had a day where nothing goes as planned? Welcome to my coupon shopping trip today! Its ok though, I've recovered. :) And I'm here to share my mis-steps with you. Yes, it happens to me too. You just get back up, dust yourself off, and clip more coupons! So here's what happened today...

CVS:

Excedrin is my headache zapper of choice, so I was so excited to see it was part of a great deal this week at CVS. When you buy $15 of participating Excedrin products (20+ count), you get $7 ECB back. The ad states that prices start at $2.49. Yippee! I was armed with (6) $2/1 Excedrin products and ready to buy 5 at $2.49 and 1 at $3.49, which was supposed to be the next price up, which would equal $15.94 in products. After coupons, I would pay 3.94 for 6 bottles of Excedrin and receive $7 in ECB back. Well...

it was too good to be true. I looked and looked on the shelf for this mystery $2.49 Excedrin, only to find it was the 10 count tubes- which were NOT included in the deal. How misleading! The next price up was $4.79 for the 24 ct Back and Body, and the Migraine and Extra Strength were $5.49 each. Since I love the stuff and it was still a pretty decent deal I had $2 ECBs to use up, I went ahead and got 3 bottles. It cost me $8.90 on a gift card, and I received $7 ECBs back.

Total Spent: $8.90

Total Saved: $8.39

Received $7 in ECBs

Walgreens:

I walked into Walgreens prepared. I had spent time carefully planning my transactions to best use my RRs. I grabbed a cart and started searching for the items I needed. 30 minutes later and 2 items short, I headed to the register, determined to make it work.

And, "the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry." I started out great. Then it all went down hill from there. I later figured out that the register didn't print 2 $7 RR and 1 $6 RR that I was expecting because my plans got all mixed up. I'll be returning to Wags tomorrow to see if it can be corrected.

All in all, it should look something like this:

2 Joint Juice- $10 each

Receive 2 $10 RR

2 Men's Dove- $5.99 each

-(2) $1.50/1 Men's Dove

Receive 2 $6 RR

4 Theraflu- 2/$10

-(4) $2/1 Theraflu

Receive 2 $5 RR

1 Lypsyl- $2.99

Receive $2 RR

8 3 Muskateer Crispy Bars- $.89 each

-8 in ad coupons for $.49 each

Receive 2 $1.50 RR

The Zicam pictured was supposed to print a RR as a monthly deal, but no such luck. It will be going back.

So it was supposed to cost $58.89, minus $11 in coupons, with $47 being paid in RRs. Only .89 for everything. Ha! Not my experience at all. Hopefully it will all get fixed tomorrow!
